Hey,
This is a good minimal game to enjoy the legend Sudoku! Really well done. The other comment stating the CPU usage doesn't seem to be true as I have tested the game on different laptops, maybe the PC he is using has some other issues. The game can be improved in terms of more appealing visuals than just white, some cool sound effects, and other visual effects to make this game super interesting.

There's absolutely no reason for this game to take up 35-100% of my gaming laptop's CPU. Even at idle, with me not doing anything in-game, it's sitting at around 35% CPU usage.

Ok. I checked my game first in the morning, but I found nothing with optimization problem on my PC. CPU usage is about 1%. But I think it's possible that there's no problem only on my PC. So I checked and changed some options and codes. Hopefully this changes solve your problem.
Sorry, no. That didn't fix it. It's still hanging around 31-32% CPU and 400mb of RAM. I'm running the latest Chrome on Win10 with a 4 core i7 CPU, a GeForce GTX 1060 video card, and 16gb RAM.
I'm not sure why it's running differently on your machine, but, speaking as a developer, it "working just fine on your computer" isn't a good metric. ;-)
After reloading and running it a handful more times, it's finally come down to 1%. Maybe it finally reloaded/downloaded the new version, instead of a cached version, IDK, but it's working much better now.
